Well, now is summer time and it is time for me to take a summer holiday to a place that I have been planned before. Blogs vs. Content-Sites

Now, I build content-sites, and in my free time, I still build more and more. To my definition, a content-site is more or less like what James Martell does. I would research for keywords, define my topics, list the content that I want to have in my site, and then start writing (or get somebody else to write for me).

Done with that, then it’s about building the site, putting web pages together and getting a domain name and web hosting.

After that, you go around looking for link partners.

I suppose most people understand what a blog is. But just in case for some newbie readers, I’ll try to explain what it is. A blog is a site that contains articles after articles written one after the other. The content is not being written all in one go upfront. But it is rather being updated along the way.

A blog lists the articles in a chronology manner, being the latest, the first. MoneyClicking.net is a blog. A blog is normally supported by a system or a script. You can use Blogger.com (remote hosted), Wordpress (PHP script), Movable Type (Perl script), etc.

Anyway, back to the topic. I was on the phone with my friend, we concluded it’s better to have a blog because it’s easier to get traffic with it.

Why? Well, there are some mechanics of a blog and also the culture of blogging that makes it much easier.

For one thing — it’s easier to get incoming links. Let me tell you how.

Reason #1: Blog Ping

First of all, there’s this thing called - PING. With a blog ping, when ever you write a new article in your blog, you can set addresses to a few ping sites to tell them that you just updated your blog. When you do that, you’ll get a link back to your site. Ping sites are like Technorati.com and BlogRolling.com. News sites like MSN News, Yahoo News and MoreOver, also have ping addresses.

Now, maybe you won’t be listed very long on that page, because many other blogs are also pinging to those sites. But more or less, it’ll help. I’ve gone through my web statistics and traffic do come from the sites that I pinged.

Reason #2: Trackback

Secondly, there’s also TRACKBACK. Now, I was with a friend explaining how trackbacks work last week. Now I’ll tell you. With blogs, for every article that you write, there will be a unique URL for it. And for each article, there’s also a unique trackback URL. Whenever you are at another person’s blog, look for trackback URL, and you may want to copy it.

Now here’s how you use a trackback URL. Let say you are at somebody else’s blog. And he just wrote about something about cat grooming. And somehow, you feel that you have something to say about what he wrote — and you know, what you want to say will be very long which may not be suitable for a comment. So you write your own message at your blog, and lower down the interface, you enter the other guy’s trackback URL, and then you hit the Submit button.

Now, that new article will appear on your blog. And because you put in a trackback URL, a part of your article will also appear in the other guy’s article as a comment. And that comment links directly back to your article. So that’s how trackbacks work.

Reason #3: Blog Comments

Now, my third point on why blog is better than content-site — Blog Comments. This is where you able to go around at other blog sites and write some comments on articles. And you even leave a link back to your site. But here’s the thing, just make sure that your comments are genuine, because now days, there are too many people spamming blog comments just to get a link back.

Reason #4: Bloggers’ Linking Habit

OK, here’s some more. This is more a blogging culture thing — bloggers like to link to each other. If your blog is interesting, it’s easy to get other bloggers to link back to you. Whether you ask for it on your website, or sometimes they just simply give you a link back. I’ve got this many times, and most of the times, they link back write to a specific message. And sometimes, they just list blog sites that they like on their website.

Reason #5: Faster SE Indexing

This is getting quite long already. But I am not done. When it comes to getting traffic, you may not realize this, but it’s easier to get indexed in the search engines with a blog. I don’t know why — perhaps it’s because incoming links are more natural and you don’t really go around asking for them. And when the incoming links are more natural, I think search engine will prefer it a lot more.

I myself have experienced where new content on my blog was indexed in under seven days.

Reason #6: Repeat Visitors

Now, after you get traffic from search engines, ping sites, and other blogs, later you’ll start to realize that 80-90% of your visitors are repeat visitors. It’s common with a blog. So the point is with this one — it’s easier to retain visitors with a blog.

You get huge traffic from multiple sources — and the ones you already have you get to keep. This is different from content-sites, where you really so much on search engine traffic.

Blogging Seems Much More Fun ...

In my experience, starting from scratch, in six month, a content-site may or may not reach to mark of 1000 visitors per day. And it takes serious hours writing content and building incoming links. I have multiple sites consistently doing 100-200 visitors per day, after six month. But with a blog, it’s not unusual if a blog reaches 3000 visitors per day, provided you give good content.

But I suppose, it all boils down to which you are comfortable with.

Realizing this, I may be planning differently in the future — but I am not certain on that yet. From the looks of it, blogging seems much more fun. You write about what you like, and you network with other bloggers. And the writing part becomes much, much easier with scripts like WordPress and Movable Type. Not much designing, no uploading files, less link building, etc ...

With building content-sites, you still have to build the website again, upload them up to your web hosting, build incoming links, etc ...

Friday 13th not more unlucky

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Unlucky for some? Dutch statisticians have established that Friday 13th, a date regarded in many countries as inauspicious, is actually safer than an average Friday.

A study published on Thursday by the Dutch Centre for Insurance Statistics (CVS) showed that fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday than on other Fridays.

"I find it hard to believe that it is because people are preventatively more careful or just stay home, but statistically speaking, driving is a little bit safer on Friday 13th," CVS statistician Alex Hoen told the Verzekerd insurance magazine.

In the last two years, Dutch insurers received reports of an average 7,800 traffic accidents each Friday, the CVS study said. But the average figure when the 13th fell on a Friday was just 7,500.

There were also fewer incidents of fire and theft, although the average value of losses on Fridays 13th was slightly higher.

I just want to continue my story on how to buy domain through domain auction.This post which about my experience on domain auction. It began when I bid a domain with PR4 and medium link popularity but low traffic. I bid for $10 and will ended until 7 days again. But few hours before ended, I still saw that I'm the highest bidder, but after 2 or 3 hours before ended, there is a bid from another bidder so then I bid again but what makes me confuse is few second after I click to confirm my bid suddenly I'm not the highest bidder anymore then the value of that domain raised from $10 of my bid to $45 at 1 hour 21 minutes before ended. Now, I'm very confuse about this method, after I'm waiting for almost 7 days then suddenly I lose that domain auction without known anything who's the winner. Then I download this e-book and read it and this e-book explain Bilateral and regional free trade agreements (FTAs) are proliferating across the globe, fundamentally altering the governance of world trade. Many of the recently concluded FTAs are comprehensive in their coverage, seeking to not only dismantle barriers to trade in goods but also the liberalization of trade in services. What have FTAs in services actually accomplished? This paper offers an assessment of the new generation of services agreements that have been concluded in the East Asia region. Until recently, governments in this region had been hesitant to enter into bilateral or regional arrangements. Yet since the year 2000-when only one regional services agreement was in force-twenty-four agreements have been signed that include at least one party in East Asia. Additionally, around 40 FTAs are currently being negotiated in the region, which suggests an even more prominent role for FTAs in the future.

Trade Complementarity Index

The trade complementarity (TC) index can provide useful information on prospects for intraregional trade in that it shows how well the structures of a country’s imports and exports match. It also has the attraction that its values for countries considering the formation of a regional trade agreement can be compared with others that have formed or tried to form similar arrangements. The TC between countries k and j is defined as:

TC_ij = 100 – sum(|m_ik – x_ij| / 2)

Where x_ij is the share of good i in global exports of country j and m_ik is the share of good i in all imports of country k. The index is zero when no goods are exported by one country or imported by the other and 100 when the export and import shares exactly match.

The export specialization (ES) index is a slightly modified RCA index, in which the denominator is usually measured by specific markets or partners. It provides product information on revealed specialization in the export sector of a country and is calculated as the ratio of the share of a product in a country’s total exports to the share of this product in imports to specific markets or partners rather than its share in world exports:

ES = (x_ij/X_it) / (m_kj/M_kt)

Where x_ij and X_it are export values of country i in product j, respectively, and where m_kj and M_kt are the import values of product j in market k and total imports in market k. The ES is similar to the RCA in that the value of the index less than unity indicates a comparative disadvantage and a value above unity represents specialization in this market.

After previous post about Export Diversification Index , now I would like to discus shortly about Export Similarity Index.

Many countries have an unusual pattern of export specialization in relation to the rest of the world. Often, some product exports, typically manufacturing, have grown more rapidly than the average of world exports. It is not clear however to what extent these results reflect a common tendency among countries and to what extent the results are driven by the performance of individual countries. The export similarity (XS) index provides useful information on distinctive export patterns from country to country. It is defined as:

XS j,k = sum [min (Xij, Xik) * 100]

Where Xij and Xik are industry i’s export shares in country j’s and country k’s exports, which usually include a group of countries or competitors. The index varies between zero and 100, with zero indicating complete dissimilarity and 100 representing identical export composition. This measure is subject to aggregation bias (as the data are more finely disaggregated, the index will tend to fall) and hence embodies certain arbitrariness due to product choice.

In this post, I just got a topic when browsing world bank website. This post will discuss shortly about Export Diversification Index. Export diversification is usually held to be important for developing countries, because many developing countries are often highly dependent on relatively few primary commodities for their export earnings. Unstable prices for these commodities may subject a developing country exporter to serious terms of trade shocks. Since the covariation in individual commodity prices is less than perfect, diversification into new primary export products is generally viewed as a positive development. The strongest positive effects are normally associated with diversification into manufactured goods, and its benefits include higher and more stable export earnings, job creation and learning effects, and the development of new skills and infrastructure that would facilitate the development of even newer export products. The export diversification (DX) index for a country is defined as:

DX_j = (sum |h_ij – x_i|) / 2

Where h_ij is the share of commodity i in the total exports of country j and hi is the share of the commodity in world exports. The related measure used by UNCTAD is the concentration index or Hirschman (H) index, which is calcalculated using the shares of all three-digit products in a country’s exports:

H_j = sqrt [ sum (x_i/X_t)²]

Where x_i is country j’s exports of product i (at the three-digit classification) and X_t is country j’s total exports. The index has been normalized to account for the number of actual three-digit products that could be exported. Thus, the maximum value of the index is 239 (the number of individual three-digit products in SITC revision 2), and its minimum (theoretical) value is zero, for a country with no exports. The lower the index, the less concentrated are a country’s exports.

Today, I read a news on www.economist.com about credit crisis in US. It is said that Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said that the worst of the credit crisis is over, according to sources who attended a speech he delivered in New York.

Another Internal Error Experience For Me

Yesterday, I had a bad experience on my blog, some how I searched a new blog template for my blog. Then after I found I liked, I would like to install it on my blogger site. Now, after few months of blogging, I realize the importance of Google PageRank and Alexa ranking after I read blog from prolr.blogspot.com. I have checked my PR and Alexa Rating but the results is so.... well you now!!! He..he..he.. you can check it by yourself.

Maybe for the next, I'll start to make more quality post and also only several money making blog I'll post here. Likely for next few months, I'll be so busy for my work office, I got a new assignment from my boss. Well, everyday I should collect as many as data from any source content economy, business, politic data of a country in my region. Therefore as my new assignment here, the time to browse about trend in internet may no longer I post here. So, I have idea to post a new topic which is not very popular among blogger. My new topic is about database of economic of some country, especially for my focus task. The data will update every month even I have to report it to my boss every Monday. Forex online trading is a way to make money fast. I have been for a forex trader for years. Before begin to trading, first I use my Demo Account for few months, I learn some technique and method before I try Real Account. And after I try Real Account for few months as forex trader I got much loss even never profit. Why I got much Loss here even I have used my technique? Well I don’t have risk management for my trading and maybe I was too greedy. Those who are beginners in forex online trading and you always get loss when trading, maybe this tips can help you. I collect these tips from a few sources.

1. Before you start for trade, try to collect as many as data. Data is very

important for your forex trading because it’s exercise trading skill through

analysis. Find data only related to its currency. The easiest way to collect data is news. You can find related currency news every where, from internet news or newspaper. And separate that news to 2 parts. One is for

short term analysis; second one for long term analysis

2. After you collect as many as data, do some analysis on what will happen

today through your analysis. If you feel you don’t have analysis according to those data just don’t do any trade.

3. Now you have data and analysis, then if you want, you can use some forex signal provide by some forex website like www.forexfactory.com or your own

broker website.

4. Use your analysis and signal to find a trend, and remember always follow the

trend.

5. Some people would like to use trapping technique (buy stop and sell stop at

the same time to trap the movement) on important news, but I don’t use it be cause when fluctuation on market the risk is there will be a gap when market is very volatile.

6. Have your own risk management.

7. Always use stop loss (I use between 30 to 45 pips).

8. And last one but important is from yourself, don’t be greedy.

For e-gold account holder beware of new phishing method when you received an email tell you that your e-gold account can be suspended through several term. This story begin when I read list of my inbox mail, there is one email got my attention. The email was from EG Service with subject “Notification of e-gold account update “. Then I read message like this

“Dear E-gold customer;
We regret to inform you that your E-gold account could be suspended if you don't re-update your account information. To resolve this problems please
click here and re-enter your account information. If your problems could not be resolved your account will be suspended for a period of 24 hours, after this period your account will be terminated. For the User Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us. We may also take these actions if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us. Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are
prohibited from using E-gold in any way. This includes the registering of a new account. Please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your agreed-upon obligation to pay any fees you may owe to E-gold.

I have often received this kind of message and I know this is one of phishing method, after I search information about this on internet.

Why this is a phishing? Well, if you click the link provided, it will be hyperlink to an address where it will ask you to enter your account number and password as usual when you want to login to your e-gold account. But actually the given address is not the real e-gold website, because the address is using IP address while when you login to your real e-gold account the address is www.e-gold .com/acct/login.html

The different are like this:

http://65.18.160.212/acct/login.html?claimpayment.jsp&batchid=8778462&accid=468571&suspend&sender=e-gold ---> This one is phishing

and

https://www.e-gold.com/acct/login.html ---> this address is real www.egold.com

That’s all I can tell about this phishing method, I don’t know how many e-gold account have been crack through this method. But beware of this e-mail.
